Direct Auto Insurance is giving back and helping local families get ready for the upcoming school year with its second annual Book Bag Giveaway.
On July 18, parents who stop by Direct Auto Insurance at 9340 N. Florida Ave., Tampa, can receive a free book bag while supplies last.
On the same day, Direct Auto also will host a Back-to-School Bash featuring free food, drinks, games and even more giveaways. Guests can spin a prize wheel to win gifts and sign up for a chance to win a Kindle Fire HD 8.9.
“Direct is pleased to give free book bags to children in our local communities,” said John Mullen, president and CEO of Direct General Insurance. “With back-to-school shopping costs continuously increasing, we are thrilled to help make getting ready for the new school year easier for families.”
Direct’s employees live and work in the neighborhoods it serves, making community involvement a core value. The average family with children in grades kindergarten through 12 said they planned to spend $688.62 on back-to-school needs in 2012, up from $603.63 the prior year, according to the National Retail Federation’s back-to-school spending survey.
